Seek and yee shall find with Seeqpod

Ready for the next RIAA target? Seeqpod is a search engine specializing in media files, copyrighted or not, that are hosted on the Web. The service is interesting but one has to wonder how long can it last? While being a search engine and not technically housing the material, it does allow you to play [...]

E3 Take a Look at Wii

The Nintendo Wii was fully introduced today at the E3 Expo in Los Angeles, and frankly, it looks awesome.
Some key Nintendo Wii features:

The controller - Something only Nintendo would dare try (does anyone remember the VirtualBoy?). But look what it offers:

Motion-detection: You move it like a wand in front of the tv and the game [...]

Nintendo Show’s Their Revolution-ary Controller

I’d just like to say remember the first time you picked up a Nintendo controller and started playing the original Super Mario Brothers games? You swung your arms in the air like an idiot, as if the movement of the controller was actually going to do something? Nintendo was watching.

I’m not sure how I feel about this. Actually, I do; I owned a Power Glove. I’m all for pushing innovation, something Nintendo has always attempted in the past, but this is a huge gamble for the big N. We can expect to have some great experiences with 1st party games, but how will this unique controller translate into the numerous cross-platform 3rd party games? It seems that alone will force Nintendo into the domain of being the second console in America’s households.

Metroid Cubed

I’d just like to say that Metroid is probably my all time favorite series Nintendo has created. Moreso than Mario or Zelda. I must have played the first Metroid completely through dozens of times, and now I can relive the adventure in Metroid Cubed. While it is only a demo, the proof of what can be accomplished to spice up your retro games is commendable. It would be excellent to see this voxel application applied on other games of that time. Who’s with me?
